Monachopsis
es un proyecto fotográfico que nace a partir de la inspiración por parte de la
puesta cinematográfica de Sofia Coppola. Retratos de jóvenes con un tono
melancólico, “atrapadas” dentro de su propio hogar. Monachopsis, el significado
de la palabra, se refiere al sentimiento de no pertenecer; por tanto, este
proyecto se centra en plasmar fragmentos y detalles del lugar donde estos personajes
se desarrollan, y donde se sienten tan cautivas.
Monachopsis
is a series of photographs born after Sofia Coppola's-filmmaking as a muse.
Portraits of young girls with a rather melancholic tone to it,
"trapped" inside their homes, their worlds. Monachopsis, refers to
the term of the feeling of not belonging; this is why, this project presents
fragments and details of the setting where these characters develop, and where
they feel so captive.
Es miercoles 4, quinto día desde que Views de Drake fue lanzado y más de una semana desde que Beyoncé trajo al mundo a Lemonade. El verídico #blessed. Por eso, después de meses y meses de ausencia, TFB regresa con este outfit de un día desconocido de abril, el cual aparentemente era perfecto para usar creepers (como todos los días de la semana). Dejando a un lado la narrativa en 3ra persona...decidí ponerme un top sin mangas, previamente rescatado de una caja olvidada, un mom jean y un cinturón que fácilmente se podría mezclar con la portada del álbum de Alvvays.

It's wednesay, fifth day since Views by Drake was released and over a week since Beyoncé gave birth to Lemonade. We have been #blessed. After months of being absent, TFB makes its comeback with this outfit of an unknown day of april, which apparently was perfect for wearing creepers (isnt everyday?). ok, leaving aside the narration in 3rd person, I decided to wear a sleveless white top, which was previously rescued from a box; some mom jeans and a vintage belt which could easily be part of the cover of an Alvvays album.
Creo firmemente en que las vacaciones fueron creadas con el
objetivo de descubrir, aprender y crearse a uno mismo.
Después de haber sobrevivido a los últimos días (días que
parecieron uno solo, uno eterno, uno del infierno) y toda la ansiedad/dolor
físico/inseguridades/malos hábitos que el semestre pasado conllevaba, tomé la
astuta decisión de apoyarme en los hombros del internet y dejar que todo eso
sane. Este par de semanas que pasaron me dediqué a descubrir obsesionarme
con revistas en línea, las que han sido creadas por jóvenes (para jóvenes); y
blogs (y canales de youtube, pero no los de tipo beautyguru): los que celebran
el empoderamiento de las mujeres, los que se dedican a la cultura pop, los que
muestran estilo y no tendencias. Porque amar es compartir, y en ocasiones,
tiempo no es lo único que se necesita para curar, comparto esta lista de
maravillas que gracias al aburrimiento y al retrogrado de Mercurio en acuario
he logrado encontrar.
I’m a firm believer that
holidays were created to discover, learn and create oneself.
After the so-called college finals hectic days and all the
anxiety/physical pain/ insecurities/bad habits that come with them, I took the
smart decision of relying on the internet to let all of those things heal (don’t
we all?). These past couple of weeks I have discovered obsessed over online magazines, the ones that
are created by teens (for teens); and blogs (youtube channels, but not the
beautyguru type): the ones that foster women empowerment, the ones dedicated to
pop culture, the ones that show style and not trends. Because sharing is caring
,and sometimes, time isn’t the only thing you need for healing, here’s a list
of wonderful sources for general inspiration.
STYLELIKEU
True style is self-acceptance.
No recuero exactamente cómo o cuándo encontré este
canal. Tal vez fue un día en el que la luna estaba alineada con cáncer, who
knows. StyleLikeU es una campaña-like canal que celebra el estilo autentico. Es
un proyecto madre-hija que recluta a personas genuinas, pure-soul y con estilo,
cuyas historias merecen ser contadas. Uno de mis videos favoritos es la
entrevista que le hciieron a Soko. Miren ustedes mismos. Hay tanta belleza
reflejada en ver cómo la gente expresa su “rawness” a través de su estilo.
I don’t exactly recall how or when I stumbled upon
this channel. It was probably a day in
which the moon was facing cancer. StyleLikeU is a campaign-like channel that
celebrates authentic style. It’s a mother-daughter project that recruits
genuine, pure-soul, stylish people that have stories to tell. One of my favourite
videos is the interview they made to Soko. See for yourself. There is such
beauty in watching other people express their “rawness” through style.
