Terrence

Son las 0:14 y los lunes no son tan malos. Con la canción más reciente de Lana del Rey, "Terrence Loves You" - la cual me atrevo a decir que es una de mis favoritas ahora- viene un sentimiento nostálgico medio-Morrisey que solo puede significar que el verano ya casi se acaba. Estos últimos tres meses parecían como una eternidad pero al menos logré obtener suficiente material fotográfico en mi 35mm kodak para llenar una "inspiration board". (He pasado suficientes horas en pinterest como para confiar que cualquier DIY me saldrá increíble). En fin, tres piezas de este outfit son vintage, los mom jeans son una de las mejores adquisiciones recientes y bueno...superstars.

It's 0:14 and Mondays aren't so bad. With the recently released song by Lana del Rey, "Terrence Loves You"- which I dare to say that is one of my absolute favorites by the artist- comes a very mellow (almost Morrisey-like) feeling that could only mean that summer is over. These past three months of summer migh have seemed like an eternity but at least I got enough footage on my 35mm kodak to cover up my soon-to-be inspiration board. (I've spent way too many hours on pinterest, enough to actually make myself believe that I'm capable of doing any DIY project). 

Three pieces of this outfit are vintage, the mom jeans are probably one of the best purchases I've made recently, and...superstars because why not.

Últimamente mi lista de deseos ha ido creciendo inhumanamente (?). Y es que esta lista que creé en Polyvore se asemeja bastante a todo lo que compraría sólo y únicamente si canjeara múltiples gift cards o cupones (o la lotería). En estas vacaciones se me ha dado por crear decenas de listas de deseos: maquillaje, cosméticos, zapatos, ropa, actividades, sueños, películas, series y hasta de mis instagrammers favoritos.  En fin, trataré de compartir varias listas lo que queda de este mes. 

Disclaimer: *la gorra negra de cuero se la puede conseguir en el Mercado Artesanal de Quito. *los que me conocen saben que mis creepers sufrieron un accidente, por lo que tengo la necesidad de conseguir otros a toda costa.

Lately, my wishlist has been growing in a very inhuman way. The thing is that this list that I created on Polyvore is pretty similar to everything I would purchase ONLY if I redeemed multiple gift cards or coupons (or won the lottery). Los cambios de clima de estos últimos días veraniegos en Quito han sido casi proporcionales a los mood swings de un cáncer y un géminis combinados. Un día de estos opté por usar una blusa "cut out" de Dear One,  con unos high waisted negros, mis adidas superstars y un bolso negro CK ya que añade un poco de good-drama al outfit.

The changes of the weather this past few summer days in Quito have been pretty much equivalent to the mood swings of a cancer/gemini combination. One of these days, I decided to wear a "cut out" blouse from DearOne along with some high waisted jeans, adidas superstars and a Calvin Klein bag (the perfect addition of good-kinda-drama to the outfit).

Vintage Pieces + Summer Playlist!

Alguien una vez me dijo: "si no usas nada de tu madre en tu outfit, es un mal día". No me había dado cuenta qué tan cierto era esto hasta hace poco. Es que, después de tantas "herencias" de ropa de mi tía y mi ma, gran parte de mi closet es ocupada por vintage pieces. La predominancia de texturas, patrones barrocos, shoulder pads y blusas button-up , se puede apreciar apenas abro mi closet. 

Una de mis prendas favoritas es la blusa que utilicé en mi look "Just A Hideaway", es excelente para usarla en un día soleado porque la tela es súper liviana. Otra de mis blusas favoritas, es una button-up shirt súper texturizada, me recuerda a algo que usarían las hermanas Lisbon de "The Virgin Suicides". Bodies, blusas de gamusa, chaquetas con shoulder pads, sacos con cuello de tortuga, y abrigos over-sized; son prendas que pueden ser combinadas con otras piezas o accesorios contemporáneos para complementar un look drewbarrymoreIsh-de-los-90s.

Somebody once told me: "if you're not wearing something from your mom, it's a bad day". I hadn't realized how true that was until now. It's just that after so many second-handed clothes givn to me by my aunt and mom, a huge part of my closet is basically vintage pieces. The predominance of textures, barroque patterns, shoulder pads and button-up shirts; can be seen as soon as you open my wardrobe. 

One of my favorite pieces is the blouse that I wore for the look "Just A Hideaway", for it is ideal to wear on a very sunny day because the fabric is so thin. Another one of my favorite pieces is a texturized button-up shirt because it totally reminds me of something that one of the Lisbon sisters of "The Virgin Suicides" would wear. Bodies, velvet shirts, shoulder pads jackets, turtle neck sweater and oversized coats; are all pieces that would fit perfectly with other contemporary pieces and accesories, making it the perfect "drewbarrymoreIsh-from-the-90s" look.

Le Couleur - Femme.

Últimamente, mi dashboard en tumblr es básicamente jugos detox, cejas, el look de maquillaje más natural posible y paredes blancas. Todos los caminos llevan al minimalismo, y en efecto, después de tanto tiempo de ausencia en el blog, decidí tomar ese camino. Era uno de esos días donde el clima no se decidía, sin embargo, opté por usar un chunky sweater de color mostaza, unos high waisted jeans negros, mis docs, y una chaqueta negra vintage. 

My tumblr's dashboard is basically dominated by pictures of detox juices, "no-makeup" makeup looks, full brows and white walls. Today, it seems like  all the roads lead to minimalism and after a long period of time without posting a single thing, I decided I would take that path too. It was one of those days where the weather would not make up its mind, however, i decided to wear a mustard chunky sweater, black high waisted jeans, my docs and a black vintage jacket.
